Brent founded Heart Academy in 2012. As a player growing up, he had the opportunity to compete against some of the highest ranking soccer clubs throughout the state of Michigan. As a coach and trainer, his passion and love for the game goes uncontested. Brent holds a USSF “C” license, and a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and has worked with some of the best teams and players (ranging from Select- MRL).
Josh is known for encouraging positive attitudes and motivating players. His experience stems from being a first team all-state player in high school, playing at Western Michigan University and coaching for nineteen years. Josh’s coaching record includes a first district title for Goodrich High School Boys Soccer team in 1998 and leading the Goodrich High School Girls Varsity team to their first District Title and Regional appearance. He also started and head coached Muskegon Community College Women’s Soccer from 2012 – 2014 . Josh holds a USSF National “C” License.
Will developed his passion for the game and position of goalkeeping as he made massive strides in his own game with hard work and discipline. As a player he competed in a high level of high school, club and collegiate games. In addition to this, he was trained by some of the top coaches in the Midwest and country. As a coach, he has worked with goalkeepers of all ages and skill levels starting with personal training sessions and going on to work with teams, programs, and running his own goalkeeper camp. He looks to share his passion for the game with other goalkeepers as he challenges them to reach their potential.
Joe has had a huge passion for the game of soccer and developing both the players and the person to reach their maximal potential on and off the field. Joe holds his USSF “E” License and his NSCAA National Diploma. Coach Joe is working towards his USSF “D” National License.
Matt played club soccer at the regional and national levels, and was an All-State selection for Grand Haven. Matt continued his soccer career at Hope College, while earning a degree in Exercise Science. He helped the Dutchmen reach three NCAA tournaments, including an appearance in the National Quarterfinals. Matt has an immense passion for teaching the game of soccer, as well as a desire to assist athletes achieve fitness goals as a speed and strength coach. He is currently pursuing his USSF National “E” License.
Vanessa grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, playing club soccer for Carmel United, which is now the Indiana Fire Juniors, a top club in the State of Indiana. After college in the United States, she spent time playing soccer for ESPUCE, a professional women’s team headquartered in Quito, Ecuador where her family has a strong tradition of professional soccer experience.She has her USSF “E” license, and has spent several years coaching with FC Pride out of Indianapolis.
Jake has grown up playing for some of our Senior staff coaches and has become a great motivator for youth players. Jake currently holds his USSF “E” License and is excited about the opportunity he gets to help youth players progress within the game.
Nikki has played in the West Michigan area her whole career and has had an opportunity to play for some of our Senior Staff coaches during her collegiate experience. During her college playing experience Nikki helped her team advance into their first ever National showing. On top of that Nikki is pursuing her USSF “E” License.
Tim has been around the game for more than 12 years and has a great knowledge and understanding. Having kids that played in leagues all the way from Rec – Premier has allowed Tim to navigate his way through youth soccer. Tim Currently holds his USSF “E” license and is pursuing his USSF “D”. We are glad Tim is helping give back to all the youth players.
